My wife and daughter were scheduled to fly down to Florida today to join me for the holidays. (I got a head start and I am already here.) Alas, bad weather is in the forecast on the East Coast on this the busiest travel day of the year. So they decided to get ahead of the situation and rebook to come down this weekend.
It's not the end of the world. Yes, I was excited to see them this evening. Yes, I will be even more excited to see them when they arrive this weekend. And between now and then I will make the most of each moment.
I've learned in life to go with the flow. Earlier this year, I was stuck at the airport for six hours. So I took a long walk through the terminal; I read a book; I had a coffee; I did a few hours of work. I went with the flow. I wasn't upset about it. I just went with the flow.
Going with the flow is about being here now with whatever now brings. It works wonders.
